A small cat with a short leg happily plays and runs around with his littermate after being given a second lease on life.
Waffle, the three-legged kitten

A kind-hearted individual in Southern California stumbled upon a litter of tiny kittens in her yard earlier this year. Sadly, their mother had abandoned them, leaving the three babies alone and in need of care.
The kittens were shivering from the cold and hunger, and the weather was not suitable for them to be left outside any longer. “The person who found them brought them inside and made sure they were warm,” Erin, a volunteer at Wrenn Rescues, told Love Meow.
With the help of dedicated volunteers, the kittens were safely taken to a foster home where Erin could provide the care and attention they needed.
Toast and Waffle, lovingly nicknamed by Erin @catasticalmeows, were carefully placed in an incubator to maintain their body temperature. Erin devoted herself to feeding them around the clock and showering them with tender loving care.
Despite the heartbreaking loss of Pancake, one of the kittens, after days of dedicated attention, his siblings, Waffle and Toast, began to recover and thrive, gaining weight steadily.
Erin, who goes by the username @catasticalmeows, shared that Waffle, a black and white cat, was born without one of his front legs. Despite this physical challenge, Waffle never let it hinder him. From a very young age, Waffle displayed his determination by confidently moving around with his three remaining paws. He was always full of energy, even attempting to escape from the nursery where he was being cared for.
Erin’s post about her adorable cats, Waffle and Toast, showcases their distinct personalities during mealtime. Waffle, the patient one, always demands to be fed first and enjoys every bite of his formula until he’s satisfied. On the other hand, Toast is a true diva who isn’t shy about voicing her opinions and being the center of attention. Erin affectionately describes her as stubborn, loud, and always seeking attention.
Erin’s post on her social media account @catasticalmeows shows how Toast and Waffle formed a strong bond, with Toast seeking comfort in Waffle’s company. You can see their heartwarming interaction in the adorable video shared on Erin’s channel showcasing the playful kittens.
Once Waffle was out of the incubator, he was eager to embrace his new life and learn to run, play, and wrestle just like any other kitten. Despite having only three legs, Waffle was determined and motivated to keep up with his furry friends. Erin believes that Waffle’s positive attitude and resilience show that he doesn’t dwell on what he doesn’t have but focuses on making the most of what he does have.
Erin, known as @catasticalmeows, watched as the three-legged cat overcame obstacles and mastered his movements with newfound confidence. The feline eventually outpaced Toast to get to the food first, demonstrating his ability to learn, adjust, and navigate his surroundings seamlessly.
Erin, also known as @catasticalmeows on social media, described Toast as a lively and bold kitten with plenty of sass, while Waffle was more of a quiet observer. According to Erin, the two kittens complimented each other perfectly, like the ideal yin and yang pair. When Waffle craved attention, he would meow gently and then curl up beside you, purring contentedly.
Erin from @catasticalmeows shared that the brother and sister were finally ready to start their new journey at 10 weeks old.
“Their new mom patiently waited for this moment and now they have found their forever home together. We are so grateful and excited to have been a part of their special journey.”
Erin from @catasticalmeows shares that Waffle is always full of energy and absolutely adores life. He fearlessly takes on every challenge that comes his way, embodying love, kindness, and joy in everything he does.
